Our Story

Houndstooth opened its doors in 2019 in the heart of Southwest Michigan, born from a simple but ambitious vision: to create an adventurous dining experience rooted in creativity, warmth, and a fearless approach to food. Now, six years in, Chef Cheyenne Galbraith still leads Houndstooth into its next chapter with a deepened sense of purpose. Her culinary journey has been one of exploration and discovery—a storied career that took her through the vibrant kitchens of the Southern United States and the bold flavors of the American Southwest before bringing her back home to Southwest Michigan. Each stop along the way shaped her philosophy: that food should be soulful, approachable, and deeply connected to place and people. Her mission extends beyond the plate: to craft culinary experiences that nourish, inspire, and connect, while cultivating a workplace where hospitality professionals—chefs, servers, bartenders, and dishwashers—can learn, grow, and flourish in an environment rooted in respect, curiosity, and collaboration.
